Myethos Hatsune Miku Shaohua Figure

A birthday gift turned ~~Christmas~~ new year gift. After months of delay, I finally got my hands on one of the figures I’ve been looking forward to get – Myethos 1/7 Hatsune Miku Shaohua figure!

About Myethos

Myethos is a Chinese figure company, and I’ve known them ever since I laid my eyes on one of their scaled figures that failed to get – Vocaloid Stardust (sadly, no MFC entry). I’ve heard several great news on them at that time but few months ago before Shaohua Miku was released, there were some backlashes from the figure collecting community due to their final products being too far from the prototype.

Because of this, I feared that this figure can be a hit or miss.

Chinese Miku

The illustration was made by popular Artist, Ask. It was a love at first sight for me, how much more when the prototype was shown? :))

The figure is being sold in China only so it was difficult sourcing it from the usual suki shops where I get most of my figures. Fortunately, that doesn’t stop me from ordering it, although it turned a bit more costly due to proxies and stuff. Base price of the figure is around JPY19800 (according to MFC) but I ended up paying more and it turned out more expensive than my Alter Jeanne Alter. As of date, this is the most expensive figure I own.

Unboxing

The box is very simple yet elegant and not too big which is honestly a relief for me. They didn’t go all out on this one and made sure the figure stands out the first time you see it.

Personally, the face of the figure is one of the most important aspects for me and oh boy, Myethos have done it so perfectly! ~~70% of the budget might have come from just the face only lol.~~

I don’t know why but I was expecting the Miku figure itself is detachable but afterwards I’m like, “how are they gonna do that with the hair?”. ^{smh my head}

I remember people complaining about the gradient on her hair and it was not “soft” enough. Maybe they’re right but it’s honestly not worth complaining for.

The back of the figure itself is lovely. 💖

I also thought I should get the preorder bonus where you can choose between a life-sized fan, poster/scroll of the original illustration or a Chinese screen divider thing (idk what they call it lol). I had to pay extra for the shipping although it’s just a small price. I picked the screen instead because it’s perfect as a background for the figure.

Speaking of accessory, she doesn’t have any accessory aside from this extra detachable hand holding her fan.

She does look a bit awkward without her holding anything so I just picked whatever I could find lol.

The flower ornaments and base are painted and sculpted nicely. I barely notice any problems with the paint job or I’m just too mesmerized by the overall beauty of this figure. :))

Myethos’ Shaohua is definitely one of the best Miku figures around in my opinion – a holy grail figure whether you’re a Miku fan or not. I don’t regret getting this and I am honestly excited to see her together with APEX’s Ningguang. Honestly, these Chinese figures companies are really promising.
