Finally a figure review! Too bad it’s not really a review but more of photo spam (as always). (◕‿◕。)
I am actually considering on quitting the hobby because figure prices have doubled ever since I started back in 2012. Usually, 1/7 – 1/8 scaled figure ranges about Php3000-5000 but now, it ranges at Php8000-15000. My priorities have also began to shift so I’m pretty careful now which ones to order. Genshin Impact/Mihoyo be like: Too bad you won’t be quitting anytime soon.
Got this beauty a month ago and despite having second thoughts on pre-ordering (felt like there’s something wrong with the prototype), after seeing her in person, she’s definitely a worthy addition to my collection!
Me in 2006: “Why is everyone so obsessed with Saber?”
Me in 2017: “I’m a Saberfag now.”
I own 2 other Saber Alter scaled figures, one made by Alter and one by Good Smile Company. This one was manufactured by Kadokawa/Revolve which also happened to be the very first figure I own made by them.
As expected of a 1/7 scaled figure, the box is huge but not too bulky because she doesn’t really come off with a lot of accessories. My small storage for my figure collection is going to be full soon help. I love the box design which gives off a feel of a Yakuza boss’ wife for some reason lol.
Her kimono is so pretty and detailed! I’m honestly a sucker for kimonos so when I saw the illustration where it was based of, I knew I had to buy. I don’t see a lot of flaws in terms of paint job which is a relief. As I mentioned, I’ve never owned a figure made by Kadokawa but the sculpt is almost on par with well-known figure companies such as GSC or Max Factory (sadly, even the price).
Her base is pretty basic as pictured above but the black color is just perfect to match her overall classy look.
She comes off with just the base and parasol so setting her up is very easy. She can even stand on her own without the base. 🙂
Her hair ornaments are so detailed, I honestly couldn’t find any flaws on the way she’s sculpted. Paint job and sculpt are honestly much better than Alter’s 1/7 Jeanne Alter.
More photos below! Thank goodness I have a huge ass computer screen which is perfect as a backdrop lol.
Overall, I’ll give this figure a 9.8/10 maybe because the face didn’t come up as perfect as I expected. Very easy to assemble, plus amazing sculpt and paint by Kadokawa/Revolve!
